If you find yourself lucky enough to be in the Palm Beaches area of Florida during the holidays, but have no idea how to get yourself into the holiday spirit, we have several recommendations to help quiet your inner Grinch.
Sandi: 2021 marks a decade of Sandi in West Palm Beach. Sandi is a 35-foot, 700-ton holiday sand tree; the only one in the world! Sandi, as well as other sand sculptures (her dog, Duke, Merry the Mermaid and Hope the Flamingo) will be illuminated throughout the holidays. West Palm Beach also offers music nightly and light shows every 15 minutes from 6 to 9 p.m. through Dec. 30. Sandi's show will run until midnight on New Year's Eve. The Nancy M. Graham Centennial Square also dances in synchronized movements during Sandi's shows.
Santa: Santa and Mrs. Clause are also big fans of Sandi! They will be on-site for Sandi's Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, December 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at the West Palm Beach GreenMarket. And, in the best interest of keeping Santa and Mrs. Clause as safe and healthy as possible, they will be safely ensconced in a snow globe. However, you can still take pictures with them, and text them greetings.
Other Holiday Activities:
If you find yourself fortunate enough to be in the Palm Beaches after the holidays, there are plenty of other things to keep you entertained.
World-Class Equestrian Competition: Longest-running equestrian event in the world, attracting equestrians from national and international athletes competing for prizes to equestrians readying themselves for the Olympics to others beginning careers in equestrian, and just looking for competition to better themselves. The Equestrian Center is open to the public Wednesday to Sunday between January 5 and April 3, 2022.
Palm Beach International Polo Season: Held at the nearby International Polo Club Palm Beach. This season spectators may revel in the celebrated Sunday Brunch, and take in some polo as well!
Wellington Environmental Preserve: Wellington isn't just about horses! You can also spend an entire day at the Preserve. The Preserve features nature trails, a six-story observation tower and an equestrian trail.
“An Earthly A-Fair”: 50 years ago Earth Day was founded! To commemorate this monumental event, the South Florida Fair features indoor and outdoor attractions, over 200 rides and games, as well as all the traditional Fair favorites – from hard-to-believe foods to pig racing! This event runs from January 14-30.
If the South Florida fair isn't quite how you want to celebrate 50 Years of Earth Day, there are a few other options not far from the South Florida Fair Grounds.
No matter how you choose to spend your winter with us at Palm Harbor Marina, we are sure it will make for a lifetime of warm, happy, beautiful memories!
